Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert has said that Serbia deserves credit for its progress in the EU integration process. He added, however, that not all things that were expected between the European Commission's positive opinion and the European Council's decision had been done. We expected more from Serbia – EU rep Degert told B92 on Friday that the European Council had recognized Serbia's progress, but that more was expected, especially in the implementation of the agreements with Pristina. “The EU wants to see the agreements implemented in the field, and it will have time to review Serbia's actions until the next European Council meeting, in February,” he stressed. He did not specify, however, if the new requirements included that Serbia needed to dismantle the so-called parallel institutions. “The conclusions of the European Council should be adhered to, he stated, adding that they included regional cooperation, the implementation of the agreement on integrated border management and enabling EULEX and KFOR to perform their mandate,” Degert noted.
