Tadić warns of "two difficult years ahead"

President Boris Tadic said on Wednesday that the next two years for Serbia, in view of the economic crisis, "will be very difficult". Significant growth may only be expected at the end of 2013 and the start of 2014, Beta news agency reported: Tadic warns of "two difficult years ahead" "We should be prepared for the second wave of the crisis, and 2012 and 2013 will be very hard. We may expect significant growth at the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014, if the political and economic processes in Europe and in other neuralgic points of the world economy go well." Tadic was addressing a session of the Assembly of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities in Belgrade. The Serbian president said that Serbia, as other countries, cannot improve its citizens' standard of living without the annual growth rate of four percent or more. Tadic added that "many new jobs have been created over the past three and a half years", but that many companies also downsized their staff because of the economic crisis.
