At the end of September, Serbia's foreign debt totalled EUR 23.86 billion, reflecting an increase of EUR 1.03 billion in comparison to the previous month. This was noted in the journal Conjuncture Trends of Serbia, which is published by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. Serbia's foreign debt reaches EUR 23.86bn The country's long-term debt amounts to EUR 23 billion, EUR 10.43 billion of which goes to public sector, and EUR 12.57 billion to private sector. Companies account for two thirds of the long-term private debt, and banks for just one third. Private sector is entirely responsible for the country's short-term debt which stands at EUR 857.9 million, the banks owing around 90 percent of the amount, while the rest is incurred by companies.
