Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic has accused President Boris Tadic of trying to scare the citizens so they would not vote for SNS. Vucic has warned the government that his party will not allow “an election theft”. President “trying to scare citizens” “Tadic is afraid of the upcoming elections because he knows that many of his party colleagues are responsible for theft and corruption,” he stressed. The SNS deputy leader held a press conference in front of the Presidency headquarters in downtown Belgrade on Saturday. He claims that “a dictatorship is being introduced” in Serbia. Vucic said that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic was “politically persecuted” and that there was no independent judiciary and prosecution in Serbia. He added that the SNS wanted Serbia to get the EU candidate status but pointed out that Serbia would have been exposed to less pressure if the level of corruption had been lower. When asked to comment on the Belgrade-Pristina talks, Vucic said that SNS supported the dialogue but stressed that majority of citizens did not know what was going on because Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic did not inform the public about the talks.
