SPO party leader Vuk Draskovic called on the northern Kosovo Serbs to abandon the roadblocks before some unfortunate event took place there. He stressed that Serbia had no power in Kosovo and that its only option was EU membership. Party leader: Serbs must abandon roadblocks Draskovic told B92 on Tuesday that Serbia had no sovereignty in Kosovo and that “the tree logs are the worst humiliation Kosovo has ever seen.” He said there was a misguided opinion in circulation that Serbian President Boris Tadic was responsible for the loss of the province's sovereignty and that a false image of the situation was being created, according to which Kosovo was not lost but the current government would not defend it. “The letter of our Constitution, according to which we have the full authority over Kosovo, does not go hand in hand with the reality,” Draskovic said. He said Serbia had two options - to make the constitutional claims a reality by sending army to Kosovo and starting a war against Albanians, or to say it could not wage such a war, as entire Kosovo would get killed if that happened. The SPO leader said he was committed to the idea of a European Serbia and well-being of the Serbs and Serbian heritage in Kosovo. Draskovic said that the U-Turn platform did not recognize Kosovo as an independent country, and that five years from now, there would be no borders between Serbia and Kosovo and Serbia would be able to embrace again its people, churches and monasteries.
