Kosovo Albanian Interior Minister of Interior Bajram Rexhepi has said that the Pristina institutions will not take any unilateral actions in northern Kosovo. He also added that he expected that most of the barricades would be removed by winter. Kosovo IM: Barricades will be removed before winter Rexhepi told Voice of America (VOA) that the Kosovo institutions would not directly interfere in problems in northern Kosovo since, as he put it, this was now KFOR's responsibility. He also voiced belief that suspects for murder of Kosovo police officer Enver Zymberi, against whom the Interpol issued warrants, would be arrested and extradited to Kosovo. Rexhepi noted that barricades were hindering the search, but added however that Serbia and Montenegro were obliged to execute the warrant, arrest the suspects and extradite them to Kosovo. According to him, KFOR can dismantle all barricades in a day or two but they want to do it gradually. The Kosovo minister stressed that the barricades were related to interests of different criminal groups, oil smugglers, but also local politicians, a number of whom were radical and connected with certain Serbian opposition parties. Rexhepi added that the freedom of movement was an international standard and it should be applied to KFOR, EULEX, Kosovo institutions and all citizens.
