Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has stated that there will be no talks on Kosovo’s political status “because the issue was solved long time ago”. He believes that the issue of the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings is also closed and that “the barricades will be removed soon”. Thaci: Kosovo status won’t be discussed The Kosovo PM told daily Danas that Kosovo “as an independent and a sovereign state today is an unchangeable political fact” and that there would be no talks about Kosovo’s status. According to him, the issue was solved a long time ago, back in 1999 but formally on February 17, 2008 “after the Ahtisaari plan was adopted and independence was declared”. Thaci also does not believe that holding of an international conference on Kosovo is possible, since, as he said, Kosovo is not a “burning issue” in the region. When asked whether the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings could be discussed during the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, he said that the issue was closed. “The dialogue in Brussels is not about Kosovo’s statehood, but about the ways how to upgrade that statehood in the context of regional cooperation and good neighborly relations with the Republic of Serbia,” Thaci was quoted as saying. He stressed that the barricades in northern Kosovo would not stay there much longer. “The barricades will be removed. That will be done gradually and without violence by the institutions that are in charge of security in the entire Kosovo,” the Kosovo prime minister explained. When asked what was Pristina’s final offer regarding the northern Kosovo status, Thaci said that “the first and last offer” was a solution envisaged by the Ahtisaari plan and Kosovo Constitution, which offered a wide range of opportunities. When asked whether he would cooperate in EULEX’s investigation into the human organ trafficking allegations stated in Council of Europe Rapporteur Dick Marty’s report, the Kosovo PM said he was ready “fully cooperate in the process of shedding light on the fabrications”. The Kosovo PM told daily Danas that Kosovo “as an independent and a sovereign state today is an unchangeable political fact” and that there would be no talks about Kosovo’s status.

When asked whether the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings could be discussed during the Belgrade-Priština dialogue, he said that the issue was closed.

When asked what was Priština’s final offer regarding the northern Kosovo status, Thaci said that “the first and last offer” was a solution envisaged by the Ahtisaari plan and Kosovo Constitution, which offered a wide range of opportunities.

When asked whether he would cooperate in EULEX’s investigation into the human organ trafficking allegations stated in Council of Europe Rapporteur Dick Marty’s report, the Kosovo PM said he was ready “fully cooperate in the process of shedding light on the fabrications”.
