The European Commission (EC) has expressed deep regret over Serbian authorities’ decision to ban the Pride Parade. The EC also condemned threats made by extremist organizations. EC “regrets decision to cancel Pride Parade” The EC calls on the Serbian authorities to “do everything to fully respect the freedom of assembly and expression in order to allow all peaceful gatherings in the future”. “The EC strongly condemns intimidation and threats of extremist organizations to the Pride Parade Organizers, which prevented the Serbian citizens from exercising the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and anti-discrimination laws,” the EC said in a statement.
