Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica stated on Wednesday that the Serbian government should cast off all blackmails by the EU. He added that the government should firmly demand that the EU and the international community show full respect for Serbia's territorial integrity. DSS leader says Serbia should “reject EU blackmails” “It is time for Serbia to cast off all EU blackmails which the country is subjected to because of its goal of obtaining EU candidate status, and to firmly demand that the EU and the international community should fully respect Serbia's territorial integrity in keeping with the basic principles of international law and Resolution 1244,” Kostunica noted in a written statement for the media. The DSS leader believes that Serbia should call on EULEX to leave Kosovo immediately and re-establish the UN mission instead because of NATO and EULEX hostility toward the people of Serbia. According to him, the UN mission is the only side that has the mandate to operate in Kosovo in keeping with Resolution 1244. “Western powers first bombed Serbia, then they illegally declared Kosovo's independence and now NATO is shooting and using the most brutal force against the people of Serbia,” Kostunica said and added that it was a lie that NATO and EULEX were status neutral and stressed they were using all means and brute force to set up an independent country of Kosovo. He noted that Serbs in Kosovo were defending their freedom and right to be a part of the Republic of Serbia and that NATO and EULEX could not take away this right from them by force.
