The Croat parliament’s Mandate-Immunity Committee has approved decision to strip former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader of the immunity over corruption accusations. The investigation has been launched against the former PM and it will look into the allegations that Sanader accepted bribe worth EUR 10mn from the Hungarian MOL oil company during the sale of Croatia’s INA oil company. The Bureau for Combating of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) demanded that the former prime minister be stripped of immunity for accepting bribe in order to let MOL take over INA’s management rights.

The final decision on Sanader’s immunity will be made by the Croatian parliament on Wednesday.
