KFOR blocks road near Jarinje, Serbs open new ones The local Serbs opened a new road close to the old one as an answer to KFOR's action, so that traffic between Kosovo and Raska is functioning without interruptions. Several Serbs spent the night at the barricades set up across northern Kosovo as a response to the arrival of Kosovo customs officers to administrative crossings. Kosovo Minister of Interior Bajram Rexhepi announced the talks with KFOR and EULEX about joint actions on removing the barricades, whereas French Ambassador in Pristina Jean Francois-Fitou stated that he was not informed that the international community had a plan for removing them. Claiming that the citizens of the north part of Kosovo should dismantle the barricades themselves, Fitou said that this should be done gradually in order to create conditions for a normal life of all inhabitants. EULEX Spokesman Nicholas Hawton told Belgrade-based daily Blic that it would be best if the barricades were removed by those who had set them up, but that “all options are open” for their removal, adding that it was clear what that meant. “13 drivers of Eurokop company from Raska who were arrested by the Kosovo police for allegedly illegally entering Kosovo and taking part in putting up of the barricades, will be taken before Kosovo judges on Friday,” Kosovo police Regional Spokesman Besim Hoti stated. The Serbian government, the Ministry for Kosovo and Belgrade team head Borislav Stefanovic reacted after the arrest of the drivers at the border terminal in southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, all requesting that EULEX takes over the case.
