Serbian President Boris Tadic and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon agreed in New York Thursday that the solution for Kosovo should be reached through dialogue. During the talks on the situation in Kosovo, Ban expressed his concern over the deterioration of the situation in northern Kosovo, and pointed to the need to maintain peace. “Solution for Kosovo should be reached through dialogue” The UN secretary general encouraged the full and patient participation in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, with the mediation of the EU, the UN Secretariat released. Ban also stressed that international institutions in Kosovo needed to remain status neutral. Tadic, who is taking part in the UN General Assembly session, previously conferred with EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, to whom he reiterated Serbia's position not to accept the attempts of violent change of reality in Kosovo, and added that Belgrade would remain committed to the dialogue that can lead to solutions to the issues between Serbs and ethnic Albanians.
