Serbia's UN mission requested an explanation from the Office of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon about his alleged statement mentioning the Ahtisaari plan. Ban Ki-moon held talks with representatives of Kosovo's authorities on the situation in northern Kosovo and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and on the occasion called for restraint and solving problems through dialogue, the UN told Tanjug news agency on Monday. The UN secretary general's office did not say whether the meeting touched on the Ahtisaari plan. The plan for Kosovo's supervised independence was drawn by a former UN envoy, but was never adopted by the Security Council, and was rejected by Belgrade. (file)
