Serb Progressive Party (SNS) deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic says Serbia should continue its EU integration despite events in Kosovo and EU's role in them. “The actions of the Pristina Albanians, KFOR and EULEX were illegal, but the Serbian authorities helped them in all this with their irresponsibility,“ the opposition party official told a news conference. "Continue EU integration despite events in Kosovo" “We will keep fighting for protection of our territorial integrity and we are at the same time noting that Serbia needs political and economic progress and the EU accession,” the SNS deputy leader stressed. He criticized Serbian President Boris Tadic for “calmly applauding at the (Davis Cup semifinal) tennis match while people are at the barricades”. Vucic repeated his party's call for an urgent session of the Serbian parliament to debate a motion of no confidence in the government "which has brought Serbia to the brink of ruin." “Most Serbs in Kosovo do not want to come to a meeting with Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic and Minister for Kosovo and Metohija Minister Goran Bogdanovic anymore. That’s how much the people like them,” the SNS deputy leader pointed out. He noted the Serbian government had no results to brag about, especially in the preservation of territorial integrity, the economic and social spheres. “The government is deceiving the citizens,” Vucic said. He added that it was necessary for all political factors to try and reach a consensus about what was best for the citizens. He also announced that SNS’ political pressure “for salvation of citizens from the worst government” would increase and that the Progressives would talk to “everybody who wants a change of government”. According to the SNS deputy leader, his party will begin its election campaign on October 22 or 23. Vucic added that the SNS would present ideas and a plan for “salvation of Serbia”.
