Team chief: It’s important that situation remains peaceful

Belgrade team head Borislav Stefanović said Friday that it was of utmost importance that the situation in northern Kosovo remained peaceful.

Belgrade team head Borislav Stefanovic said Friday that it was of utmost importance that the situation in northern Kosovo remained peaceful. He added that unity should be preserved so as to create an atmosphere for a new agreement. Team chief: It’s important that situation remains peaceful “It is highly important that at this moment the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija remains peaceful, that citizens stay calm,” Stefanovic told Tanjug. “I think that we are faced with a challenge that we can resolve only by creating an atmosphere for a new agreement which would regulate the issue relating to the administrative crossings, since that matter has never been discussed,” he stressed. The team chief qualified the Friday action of the Pristina authorities as a unilateral move backed by a part of the international community and underlined that it represents “open playing with stability and people's lives.” “We stand ready at any moment to reach an agreement which will benefit citizens in Kosovo and at the same time protect our legitimate national interests,” Stefanovic concluded.
