Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić said Tuesday Serbia had a reason to be proud of hosting a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said Tuesday Serbia had a reason to be proud of hosting a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). He added that the meeting had sent important messages of peace, equality, mutual respect and dignity. Those values are peace, equality, sovereign equality and equal rights for everyone, a world that is based on international law, not force and a world that is based on respect for countries, not on unilateral attempts at their dissolution. Serbia will always support that," Jeremic stressed. The Serbian foreign minister told the closing news conference that Serbia supported and was committed to the NAM values. “It was a great honor for Serbia to host the NAM meeting that marked such an important anniversary,” he noted, adding that the first NAM summit 50 years ago had been one of the bright moments in the history of the 20th century. "A significant number of nations back then had the courage, strength and vision to unite and send the world divided into blocks a message of peace, justice and that everyone has an equal right to vote, think and protect their national interest," Jeremic asserted. “The world is a better place today thanks to NAM,” he concluded. Vuk Jeremic and Mohammed Kamel Amr (Tanjug) “Egypt won’t change stance on Kosovo” Egyptian Foreign Minister and Non-Aligned Movement Chairman Mohammed Kamel Amr said Tuesday that his country would not change its position on refusing to recognize Kosovo's independence. Amr told the press conference at the end of the two-day Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Conference in Belgrade that every country had a constant in its foreign policy. “Elections will be held soon in Egypt and the country will have a new government early next year, but there are constants to which Egypt will adhere,” he pointed out.

Egyptian Foreign Minister and Non-Aligned Movement Chairman Mohammed Kamel Amr said Tuesday that his country would not change its position on refusing to recognize Kosovo's independence.
