Serbia’s Minister for Kosovo Goran Bodganovic on Sunday called on KFOR to be status neutral. The minister had a meeting with KFOR Commander Erhard Buhler on Sunday in Pec and stressed that KFOR should not transport Kosovo customs officers to administrative crossing in northern Kosovo. Minister calls on KFOR to be neutral Bodganovic and Buhler discussed alternative crossing in northern Kosovo and roadblocks that have been set up in the Zvecan municipality. According to the Serbian minister, it is necessary to try harder to prevent smuggling and organized crime and that amount of goods entering Kosovo should be reduced. “I requested that KFOR does not take any action and unblock the alternative crossings and allow functioning of traffic. I did not get any guarantees from the KFOR commander regarding this, but he did promise that KFOR would remain status neutral and that it would do everything to ease tensions in northern Kosovo,” Bodganovic pointed out. “I believe KFOR will continue to operate in accordance with the UN Resolution 1244 and that it will not implement decisions of the Pristina institutions,” he concluded.
