Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantic says that Serbs will remain at the barricade near the village of Rudare until their requests have been met. He explained that the locals Serbs wanted the situation at the Brnjak and Jarinje administrative crossings to be returned to the state before July 25 and the Kosovo Albanian authorities attempt to take control over the checkpoints. KM mayor says Rudare barricade "won't be removed" “The people at the barricades are determined to protect their homes and families and they expect from the state of Serbia a more decisive protection of Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty,“ Pantic told a press conference in Belgrade. He pointed out that the Serbian government's agreement with KFOR was "unacceptable for Kosovo Serbs because it complies with all of Pristina's requests“, and added that KFOR supported Kosovo authorities' ban on import of goods from Serbia. According to the Kosovska Mitrovica municipal president, councilors of the four north Kosovo municipalities have been put in a "bad position" and asked to accept the agreement, noting that the deal should in fact be approved or rejected by the Serbian parliament and government. Today's news conference was attended by Serb Progressive Party (SNS) Kosovska Mitrovica branch chief Bojan Jakovljevic, who called for unity among all north Kosovo Serbs representatives. He stressed that there had been a lot of speculation in public regarding the content of the agreement, reached last week. Meanwhile, the Serbs from Leposavic and Zupce on Monday and Tuesday started removing barricades set up on the roads leading to the two checkpoints. Barricades near the village of Rudare (Tanjug)
