Security forces in Yemen opened fire against demonstrators in Sanaa, who gathered to demand resignation of the country's president Ali Abdullah Saleh. One person was killed during the incident. Police also used tear gas to disperse protesters who have been organizing demonstrations for four months. Saleh has been in office for the past 33 years. Previously, another demonstration in Sanaa saw about 100 journalists gather to protest against what they said was harassment and censorship against them imposed by the authorities.
