OSCE PA President Petros Eftimiu protested after Algerian and Moroccan delegations had been denied entry to Serbian President Boris Tadic's reception. The two countries are attending the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Belgrade as cooperation partners. Moroccans, Algerians denied entry to Tadic's reception At a plenary session Eftimiu said that he had been informed just before the reception on Thursday evening that certain delegations would not be allowed to attend and that the Serbian president's security had sent the request. “If we had known that this would happen we wouldn't have participated in the reception either,“ he stressed. The OSCE PA president expressed his concern over the incident. Serbian President's Adviser Jovan Ratkovic has expressed regret and pointed out that this was not a matter of the Serbian government or its policy but solely the security issue. Head of the Moroccan delegation said his country would not call on the culprits to be punished but added that the Moroccan delegation members had been humiliated and that the Arab world took this very seriously. Boris Tadic (Tanjug) “Administrative error“ Head of the Serbian parliament delegation to the OSCE PA Suzana Grubjesic has apologized on Tadic's behalf and added that there certainly had not been any ill-intentions. She explained that this was probably an administrative error and expressed hope that the incident would not cast a shadow over the hospitality in Belgrade. Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic has also apologized for the “unpleasant incident” which involved the two friendly countries. “I am sorry, dear friends,” he said and added that this was a case of “plain stupidity”.

At a plenary session Eftimiu said that he had been informed just before the reception on Thursday evening that certain delegations would not be allowed to attend and that the Serbian president's security had sent the request.

“If we had known that this would happen we wouldn't have participated in the reception either,“ he stressed.

The OSCE PA president expressed his concern over the incident.

Serbian President's Adviser Jovan Ratković has expressed regret and pointed out that this was not a matter of the Serbian government or its policy but solely the security issue.

Head of the Moroccan delegation said his country would not call on the culprits to be punished but added that the Moroccan delegation members had been humiliated and that the Arab world took this very seriously.

Head of the Serbian parliament delegation to the OSCE PA Suzana Grubješić has apologized on Tadić's behalf and added that there certainly had not been any ill-intentions.
