The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) is preparing for the next elections and it expects a better result that the last time. The SPS expects to win more than ten percent of votes, the SPS leader Ivica Dacic has said. "SPS wants ten percent of votes in next elections" According to him, the most important political issue, which is more important than political parties and EU accession, is the employment issue in Serbia. “The SPS needs to make a plan to win in large cities, not only in the smallest municipalities in Serbia, but to win cities such as Belgrade, Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad,“ he pointed out. The SPS leader stressed that the second important issue was economic development and citizens' standard of living because “Serbian citizens do not deserve misery and poverty”. Dacic hopes that the same coalition, SPS-Party of the United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS)-United Serbia (JS), will take part in the next elections because it has showed “its value” and because its members have showed that “they know how to do their job in the state bodies right”. “Our task is to be representatives of those who work for a living and therefore open our door both to unions and those who represent workers, not to formally deal with politics if it is too hard for them but to be together with us and if it is necessary go to the elections together in order to show that we have common political positions,” the SPS leader explained. He has announced that his party will continue to advocate workers, veterans, farmers, pregnant women, mothers, disabled persons and ethnic minorities’ rights. Ivica Dacic
