Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic expressed Friday satisfaction with the reduction in the number of false asylum seekers from Serbia. Dacic, who took part in the congress of the European Police Chiefs, spoke with EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs Cecilia Malstrom about relations between Serbia and the European Commission (EC) within the framework of continuing European integration of Serbia. “Number of false asylum seekers declining” He said that they had discussed the demands Serbia needed to meet in order to acquire EU candidate status and that they also discussed visa liberalization. “We are very glad to see that the number of false asylum seekers from Serbia to the Western European countries is slowly returning to the level similar to that before visa liberalization was introduced,” the Serbian interior minister underlined.
