Eight passengers died last night on a bus that turned over and caught on fire on a highway in Bulgaria. 18 others were injured in the traffic accident, Bulgarian authorities have confirmed. 8 dead in traffic accident in Bulgaria The Bulgarian bus was traveling from Sofia to Burgas on the Black Sea, when it flipped over and was subsequently engulfed in flames on a highway some 30 kilometers away from the town of Plovdiv. Local police said that six passengers died instantly, while others passed away on the way to the hospital. Two of those who suffered injuries are now in a coma, doctors were quoted as saying. Police said they were investigating the deadly accident, while initial reports suggested that the driver of the bus had fallen asleep at the wheel.
