Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic says the adoption of a bill on financing of political activities will ensure transparency of the money flow. The draft is on the agenda of the Tuesday sitting of the Serbian parliament. Speaker on new laws, Kosovo, visit to Mladic Djukic-Dejanovic told B92 in Belgrade on Monday that the bill on financing of political activities covers the financing of election activities, and parties, and once it is adopted, every citizen will have an insight into money flows. According to her, parliament could pass the bill on public property in September, while the bill on restitution, which is a prerequisite for the country's EU candidacy, could enter the parliamentary procedure during this summer. The speaker added that "finances" were the main problem when it came to another law in the works - that addressing restitution of property taken after the Second World War - and that the reason for adopting it will be the fact it is one of the conditions for Serbia's EU bid. She also commented Socialist Party (SPS) leader and Deputy PM Ivica Dacic's recent statements on Kosovo, where he advocated a partition of the province. Djukic-Dejanovic, who is a high-ranking SPS official, said that Dacic was "an honest politician", who refrained from "sweeping issues under the rug", but that the party was yet to take a stance on this. The speaker also said she "never wondered why Ratko Mladic asked her to visit him" while detained in Belgrade. She said the decision to see him was dictated by a court order and her ethics as a doctor. "There is no person in the world who will be denied if they ask for me to examine them," concluded the speaker, who is a neuropsychiatrist. Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic (Tanjug, file)
