Serbia's FM Vuk Jeremic and his Ukrainian counterpart Kostyantyn Gryshchenko signed Tuesday a visa liberalization agreement, the ITAR-TASS has reported. The agreement will help get results from mutual actions, Jeremic stated, also thanking Ukraine on its support to Serbia regarding Kosovo. Serbia and Ukraine abolish visas "Serbia will never forget your support," he stressed. Ukraine does not recognize the ethnic Albanian unilateral declaration of independence made more than three years ago. Gryshchenko said that the Balkans was important for Ukraine and that Kiev was observing the events there carefully. The ministers discussed EU integration and underlined that both countries have the same priority, which is to join the EU. The visa liberalization will help strengthen the contacts between the two countries and facilitate travel, Gryshchenko noted. He believes there are many in Ukraine who would wish to visit Belgrade and other places in Serbia, just as there are many in Serbia who would wish to come to Ukraine. Gryshchenko also added that the trade between the two countries was steadily growing. The two ministers agreed to improve the two countries' cooperation in economy and to hold a Serbian-Ukrainian business forum this year. According to Jeremic the two sides will work together to close a free trade agreement. Ukraine is the only country in Europe with which Serbia has no such agreement, Jeremic stated, according to the Ukranian news agency Ukrinform. The two officials also discussed the cooperation between Serbia and Ukraine in various international organizations, like the UN, OSCE and others, particularly regarding Ukraine's chairmanship over the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.
