RS President Milorad Dodik backed on Monday the rights of RS veterans and citizens to express their stand regarding the arrest of retired general Ratko Mladic. The Serb Republic (RS) leader expressed belief that all gatherings would pass in peace and with dignity, according to reports. Dodik does not expect incidents at rallies "The RS Army represented the expression of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Serbs' will for survival and defense of their homes and rights," Dodik said in a release and added that as the RS president, he would at all times and all places strive to protect the honor and dignity of the RS Army as an honorable military formation that bore the greatest importance for the preservation of Serbs in Bosnia during the armed conflicts aimed at patriotic defence. Dodik reiterated his stand according to which all individuals responsible for war crimes need to answer for their action before competent courts, and he also firmly refuted any attempt at imposing collective guilt. We are proud of the RS Army and the achievements of its honorable fight for freedom and equality for Serbs, Dodik noted. Instead of rejoicing over Mladic's arrest in Sarajevo, it would be far more adequate for them (the Bosnia officials) to provide an answer with regard to numerous atrocities against Serbs with which nobody has been charged and the protagonists of which are treated as most deserving citizens by Bosniak (Muslim) politicians, Dodik said. In keeping with the decision adopted by the RS parliament, RS will set up a fund for providing legal assistance to individuals charged before the Hague, the RS president said and added that the RS government is required to conduct necessary procedures immediately so that the fund could be established and start operating. RS Veterans' Organization is staging gatherings of support to arrested Mladic throughout RS. In Sarajevo media, the gatherings are qualified as '"fascist", and as complicating relations with Bosnia even further. A scene from Banja Luka (Tanjug)
