Danish prosecutor on war crime against Serb civilians

Danish Special Prosecutor for International Crimes Brigitte Vestberg is willing to interview witnesses to the case of killings of Serb civilians in Croatia. This is according to the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office, which issued a statement in Belgrade on Wednesday. Danish prosecutor on war crime against Serb civilians The Serbian prosecutor's office asked for international legal assistance with the case of civilians who were murdered in the local elementary school in the town of Dvor na Uni on August 8, 1995, reads the statement. The Danish Special International Crimes Office (SICO) accepted the Serbian prosecutor's call for help in interviewing the witnesses to the crime. According to the statement, the Serbian Prosecutor's Office sent the request on April 28 with the aim of investigating media allegations about the perpetrators and victims of this crime and all circumstances of the event. The prosecutor's office sought assistance in interviewing Danish citizen Jan Wellendorf, member of a UN mission in Croatia, who said that Danish soldiers watched the massacre over old and handicapped Serb civilians, as well as his commander Jorgen Kold. The prosecutor's office also asked to be present for the statement of Kasper Vedsmand, the Danish journalist who was the first to publish Wellendorf's testimony. After the two offices agree on the technical details, Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic and associates will travel to Copenhagen. The Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office established good cooperation with SICO in 2007, when a delegation visited Denmark in search of information on Serbian citizens who fled to Scandinavia before war crimes charges.
