The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution believes that Carla Del Ponte would be "a good chouce " to lead an independent probe into the Kosovo organ trafficking. Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric voiced his support for the idea on Tuesday in Belgrade. Serbian prosecution backs Del Ponte In statements made earlier this week, the former chief Hague prosecutor expressed her readiness to take the job. ‘The Prosecution completely supports independent investigation the competences of which would be defined by the UN Security Council.", said he. "That investigation has to begin as soon as possible. It should not exclude the EULEX or any of local prosecutions. On the contrary, we all should join forces in order to bring eventual criminals to justice’, Vekaric says. Frederick Swinnen, advisor to the Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal Serge Brammertz told the Belgrade-based daily Blic that the Prosecution in The Hague "respects Del Ponte’s wish to undertake further investigation over organ trade".
