FM Vuk Jeremic stated after meeting with his Namibian counterpart Utoni Daniel Nujoma that Serbia and Namibia share the same view regarding the issue of Kosovo. The two countries will continue their tradition of excellent relations, Jeremic told reporters in Belgrade on Friday. "Fruitless pressure on Namibia" over Kosovo He expressed gratitude to Namibia for its firm support to the honoring of international law and Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty when it comes to Kosovo. "Namibia was under huge pressure which did not prove to be fruitful," the Serbian foreign minister stated at a joint press conference with his Namibian counterpart. Nujoma said that the problem of Kosovo has to be resolved through peaceful talks and dialogue, adding that Namibia backs Serbia's stand on this issue. Nujoma pointed to Serbia's important role in Namibia's liberation and independence, and expressed hope that the country's consulate will soon be established in Belgrade. The two ministers agreed that Serbia and Namibia have excellent political relations and cooperation in the international arena, but noted that cooperation has to be improved in the areas of economy, defense, agriculture, high technologies, education, science and culture. Nujoma pointed out that Namibia could use the knowledge and technology of the Serbian experts and promote the cooperation in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, energy, climate changes, information technologies and mining.
