Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) whip Milos Aligrudic said Wednesday that the DSS would not take part in Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) rally in Belgrade. He told reporters that the fact that the DSS supported early parliamentary elections was not enough reason for the party to join the SNS rally set for April 16. DSS won’t take part in opposition rally "We support the call for early parliamentary elections. Is that reason enough to take part in someone's rally? I think that right now it is not, as we are deep into the election year," Aligrudic told the reporters in the parliament. He pointed out that the DSS "does not have the habit" of taking part in rallies without first defining a joint message. Asked about possible pre-election coalitions, Aligrudic noted that harmonization platform was important and that the DSS was focused on possible forms of cooperation with the opposition which could result in defeating the ruling coalition, as well as raising awareness that the coalition was not good and that an alternative existed. "Of course we want to talk with other opposition parties about these issues, because that is very important for the actual election. It is still early to talk pre-election coalitions," he concluded.
