Serbian President Boris Tadic's upcoming visit to France will be an opportunity to strengthen the relations between the two countries, say analysts. Tadic will meet with French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy during his April 6-8 visit, according to announcements, and experts believe the two presidents are going to focus on strategic partnership. Tadic and Sarkozy to meet in France The signing of a strategic partnership agreement has been announced. Serbia has already signed similar agreements with China and Italy, while another one with Russia has also been announced. "Tadic's coming visit to France is mostly related to Serbia's expectations of gaining the status of a candidate for EU membership by the end of the year, which will also affect the future political events in the country," former Serbian Ambassador to France Predrag Simic has said. This is Tadic's second visit to France in the past two years, which shows the significance of Serbia's relations with France, he noted. The meeting will also be an opportunity to improve the two countries' economic relations, Simic added. Tadic was in France in May 2009, when the key elements of the strategic partnership agreement were agreed. The document is meant to include cooperation in culture, science, education, economy and Serbia's EU integration.
