The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leaders will discuss possible cooperation, daily Vecernje novosti has learned. According to the daily, SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic and DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica should meet next week in order to discuss further cooperation Daily: DSS, SNS to discuss cooperation The relations between the two opposition parties somewhat improved after Nikolic had signed a petition condemning political prosecution of the DSS leader. Nikolic and Kostunica have concluded that it is necessary to continue the communication between their parties at the highest possible level, the daily writes. The SNS top officials will once again call on Kostunica and the DSS to take part in an opposition rally that will be held on April 16 in Belgrade. On the other hand, the DSS will try to agree about a minimum number of common political goals with Nikolic, which they see as a condition for further political cooperation. Kostunica and Nikolic last time met on January 14 and the meeting was unsuccessful since the SNS had launched an initiative to change the Constitution and reduce the number of MPs in the Serbian parliament, while the DSS insisted that changes to the Constitution would pose a risk to the country.
