Croat PM Jadranka Kosor and her Serbian counterpart Mirko Cvetkovic pointed out that cooperation between the two countries’ judicial bodies was necessary. The two officials discussed the missing persons issue and the return of the refugees in Belgrade on Friday. Croat, Serbian PMs meet Kosor has announced a donors conference on refugees’ return and pointed out that the issue of refugees’ return was “technical and not a political issue” for her government. Replying to reporters' questions as to her opinion on the petition in which representatives of Serb refugees from Croatia are calling for a fair solution to their property issues and other rights, she said that they had the right to take on their stand just as Croatia had the right to uphold its official policy on the matter. “Croatia's official policy is that this big task is being tackled and that this issue would be taken off the agenda,” the Croatian PM noted. When it comes to the issue of housing for refugees, she said that Croatia would complete all the tasks it has set for itself. According to Kosor, this issue was connected with finance and economic crisis in 2010, but these difficulties have been solved. However, the Croat PM still believes the issue of missing Croatian citizens to be a “zero issue”. “For Croatia, this is a 'zero issue,' and we are willing to invest maximum efforts in order to solve it because every family deserves to know the truth and hear the facts about its missing members,” Kosor told the news conference. She underscored that this was a humanitarian issue and a matter of basic human rights. Kosor expressed hope that certain progress would be made in the missing persons issue. She underlined that the Croatian government considered that cases such as the one of Tihomir Purda should never happen again. “It would be positive to activate a working group that would be in charge of solving every individual case,” Kosor said.
