Dialogue and EU integration "not connected"
Serbian President Boris Tadić stated in Brussels Saturday that there was no direct link between the Belgrade-Priština dialogue and Serbia's EU integration.

Serbian President Boris Tadic stated in Brussels Saturday that there was no direct link between the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and Serbia's EU integration. He noted, however, that Serbia needed to resolve the issue before it joined the EU. Dialogue and EU integration "not connected" "We know that we cannot take with us to the EU certain conflicts from the South East Europe, as Europe is already facing enough of its own problems," the Serbian president told Radio and Television of Serbia. He said that "it is important for Serbia's European pathway to resolve the conflicts in the Western Balkans before the country joins the EU." The Serbian president is taking part in the three-day Brussels Forum, where he discussed with European officials the efforts that Serbia is making in order to obtain the EU candidate status and begin negotiations on EU accession, as well as the issue of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, the second round of which is scheduled to take place in Brussels on Monday.
