Tadic confers with Van Rompuy in Brussels On Saturday, Tadic will confer with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek and EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule. On Sunday, the Serbian president will participate in a panel discussion dedicated to the Western Balkans, at which Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic and EU representatives will talk about regional integration. The Brussels Forum, organized by the NGO German Marshall Fund, gathers each year a large number of high officials from around the world, and this year it is being held for the sixth time, on March 25-27. Apart from Serbia's representatives, the announced participants are EU high officials - Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, Buzek, Fule, as well as top officials of the U.S., World Trade Organization, World Bank, and numerous heads of states and governments. Balkan Trust for Democracy Executive Director Ivan Vejvoda assessed Thursday ahead of the beginning of the forum that this year's forum would be a good opportunity to hear about Serbia's achievements in the EU integration process. “It will also be an opportunity to hear Serbia's message that the EU enlargement process must continue and that individual EU member states should not neglect this region or be distracted from supporting further stabilization and peace in the region,” he told Tanjug . Vejvoda stressed that Tadic's participation was very important, since the Brussels Forum, with 450 representatives of political, economic, academic and media world, is a unique opportunity to hear about what is going on in Serbia and the region.
