Macedonian PM to dissolve parliament

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski has decided to dissolve the Macedonian parliament on March 31 and call early parliamentary elections. The prime minister made the decision after a ten-hour talk with biggest opposition party Social-Democratic Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM) leader Branko Crvenkovski. Crvenkovski, on the other hand, said that his party would not return to parliament because it thought that it would be outvoted but added that the meeting with the prime minister had been a positive thing. The Macedonian parliament should choose a State Election Commission president today. According to the election law, if parliament is dissolved on March 31 the early elections would be called within the next 60 days.
