Marnhac underlined in a European Commission Foreign Affairs Committee presentation and debate in Brussels that EULEX was giving "great attention and dedication" to Dick Marty's reported, adopted by the Council of Europe, and reiterated its stance that EULEX was capable of carrying out an adequate investigation. "An introductory investigation, which is for now general and not aimed at anyone in particular, has been launched," explained the EULEX head. Marnhac also said that he and EULEX prosecutors had approached Marty, after his report was published in the Council of Europe, and asked him to provide them with all of his allegations.
