Opposition SNS party deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic says they will not take a stand on the questioning of opposition DSS party leader Vojislav Kostunica. The former Serbian prime minister will be questioned pertaining to the political background of the assassination of Zoran Djindjic. SNS "won't take stand" on Kostunica Vucic however said that he is of the opinion that the case looks like “political retribution.” “It resembles a political retribution, and only the prosecutor knows whether there are grounds for that. It would be better if the prosecutor would substantiate the claims, and list the reasons for the hearing of such a prominent political figure,” Vucic told the Belgrade-based TV B92. Vucic said that anyone who has committed a crime should be held accountable, but underlined that there should be no political abuses. Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Miljko Radisavljevic announced earlier the hearings of Kostunica, and former senior officials of Serbia's State Security Service Goran Petrovic and Zoran Mijatovic, as part of the pre-trial proceedings regarding the political background of the Djindjic assassination.
