“EU not most important thing”

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica has stated that the current government’s policy is “deeply wrong”. He added that this policy was pushing the country in one of the deepest crisis ever. “EU not most important thing” “Serbia is a prisoner of a wrong policy that the most important issue today is the EU accession,” he pointed out. “This goes both for the government and the opposition, both for the Democratic Party and the Serbian Progressive Party,” Kostunica stressed. The DSS leader also said that Serbia would not get any better until people realize that the current policy was wrong and that “it will not and cannot be any better after the elections if only ruling parties change and the policy that Brussels and Washington are more important that Serbia itself remains”. He stated that the Serbian economy was “shutting down completely” and that all essential Serbian interests would be sold through the upcoming talks with “self-proclaimed” Kosovo government in order to get a positive assessment from Brussels. According to Kostunica, a two-party system in Serbia would be a “fatal idea“, the DS and the SNS would conduct the same policy and Brussels and Washington would applaud and be satisfied regardless of which one of those parties is in power. “That is why next elections are of vital importance and people should know that a two-party system is directed against parties that fight for the Serbian national interests, for the Serbian economy and for prosperity of all our citizens,“ he stressed. The DSS leader noted that the implementation of a two-party system would remove all obstacles that prevented Serbia from joining NATO, regardless of the fact that “a vast majority of people are against Serbian soldiers fighting for somebody else's interests around the world.
