The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will use all the means of the civil resistance if elections are not called by April 16, SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic said. The SNS has announced that it will organize a large rally in Belgrade on April 16 if the authorities did not call the elections by then. SNS leader: Elections or civil resistance “I hope that the government will be smart and wise and that it won't come down to a rally. If they show that they are arrogant we will await the decision in the streets of Belgrade and maybe of other cities as well,“ he told B92. Nikolic pointed out that April 16 was a decisive moment for Serbia. “We will request elections or we won't leave. I hope that everything will be finished the same day or they will have us in the streets. We will use all the means of civil resistance if it is proven that the government is completely unreasonable,“ he said. The SNS leader told the citizens that they should wear shoes with thick soles “because they will do a lot of walking on April 16.“ Tomislav Nikolic (Beta, file) SNS leader on Delic's departure Commenting on SNS deputy leader Bozidar Delic who left the party to join the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), Nikolic said that Delic would find the Radicals in much worse condition than when he had left them. “A party is a living organism, many people come every day and some can even leave. How could I deal with politics if I would be depressed when somebody left,” he said when asked whether somebody else could leave the party by April 16. The SNS leader has denied Delic’s accusations that the SNS does not have a program and pointed out that its program was posted on the party’s website. “No coalition with DS” Nikolic stressed that he would not form a coalition with the Democratic Party (DS) after the elections. Commenting on Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica that there was no significant difference between the SNS and the DS, he said that Kostunica should fight with political means and not with “false insinuations”. “Do you really think that I’m interested in Kostunica’s judgment? Why doesn’t he deal with the Kolubara and clear his party’s name? I found about those affairs two years ago and asked him why he put up with those thefts,” Nikolic pointed out.
