State Secretary for Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic and UNMIK chief Lamberto Zannier met today in Kosovska Mitrovica. They agreed that the UN has to monitor the events and investigation following Dick Marty's report on organ trafficking in Kosovo, which alleges that ethnic Albanian KLA kidnapped and murdered Serb civilians for their organs. Ministry official meets with UNMIK, EULEX chiefs The two discussed the decisions by the UN Security Council that refer to Kosovo, Marty's report and the UN stand on it, the ministry announced Wednesday. "I insist on a quick decision, because delays would allow the issue to turn political. The UN has to be involved, directly or indirectly, because it is an issue of great importance, which has created certain expectations with the families of the missing," Ivanovic noted. Zannier said he believed the EU Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) could conduct a better investigation than the International Court of Justice or some new body created specifically for that purpose. Ivanovic also met with Head of EULEX Xavier Bout de Marnhac on Tuesday. The two reviewed the situation in the north of Kosovo, where Serbs constitute a majority of the population, and current EULEX activities, said a statement after the meeting. "Serbia has no problem with EULEX investigating criminal activities in northern Kosovo, but ordinary people should not be disturbed and suffer because of it," Ivanovic stated.
