Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic says there is no political crisis in Serbia. He is convinced the current turbulence is temporary and that the incumbent government will get a starting date for EU accession talks. Deputy PM: No political crisis in Serbia “Elections are better than senseless daily arguments, but right now we do not need to raise tensions,” the interior minister said, commending the decision of G17 Plus to stay in the ruling coalition, after party leader Mladjan Dinkic was forced to resign from the office of deputy prime minister and economy minister. He told daily Vecernje novosti that he was "not afraid Mladjan Dinkic will retaliate by bringing down the government," and that he hoped that "G17 Plus will continue to work for the same goals which brought the ruling coalition parties together three years ago." Dacic said that talks on a government reshuffle should start in the coming days and stressed that agreement was needed with the biggest party in the coalition, the Democratic Party (DS), on how to give the government a new impetus for the next year. “We need to decide if there will be fewer ministries, mergers or personnel changes,” he pointed out, noting that the first two options would require legislative changes and take time. The interior minister said that the parties which were in the ruling coalition but did not have ministers should also take part in the debate.
