Extradition request for ex-paramilitary

Serbia has sent France a request for the extradition of a former member of the Scorpions paramilitary unit, Milorad Momic. He is suspected of participating in the execution of Bosniaks in Srebrenica in 1995, Beta news agency was told by the Justice Ministry on Feb. 9. Extradition request for ex-paramilitary According to the statement, the request for Momic's extradition was sent by the Justice Ministry to the relevant bodies of France on Feb. 8. Croatia also sent a request to France on Feb. 9 to extradite Momic, because he is suspected of participating in war crimes in the region of Eastern Slavonia. Momic was arrested in the French Alps on Jan. 31, where he resided for several years under an assumed identity. He was arrested in Grenoble while going to work in a firm that specializes in the refurbishing of facades. According to the police, he was hiding in France under the name Guy Monier. The Serbian judiciary considers him a suspect in the case of the murder of six Srebrenica Bosniaks in Trnovo, in July 1995.

According to the statement, the request for Momić's extradition was sent by the Justice Ministry to the relevant bodies of France on Feb. 8.

Croatia also sent a request to France on Feb. 9 to extradite Momić, because he is suspected of participating in war crimes in the region of Eastern Slavonia.
