Education Minister Zarko Obradovic says economic conditions will dictate whether obligations from the protocol signed with teachers are going to be fulfilled. He called on all students to return to classes on Monday. “Protocol fulfillment depends on economic situation” "Protocol fulfillment depends on the economic situation. If there is money, then we will distribute it, if there is none, then we will have raises that were set down in the 2011 budget," the education minister told reporters in Belgrade. According to him, "the government, education, students and reason won on Friday, and everyone finally realized that one can share only what they have, and that it has to be done equally." “There is good will to improve the financial situation of employees in education, but the budget cannot cover everything,” the minister explained. “A representative of the Nezavisnost trade union was at the Friday meeting, while Leonardo Erdelji from The Association of Education Workers' Union (USPRS) was not able to attend it,” Obradovic stressed. "They have their committee meetings on Sunday and I hope they are going to accept the agreement,” he noted, adding that it was important to get the students back in classes and to make up for the lost time.
