Outgoing Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic says that his resignation is not an attempt of G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic to topple the government. “That certainly was not the reason for my resignation. Departure of one minister, in regards to a large number of ministers, is a relatively easy problem: you replace him,” he told daily Politika. “Resignation not attempt to topple govt.” Milosavljevic stressed that there was no direct reason for his resignation and the reasons were not political. “Thank god I’m healthy, there are no conflicts within the coalition and there are no investigations [into its work], as far as I know,” he explained. According to him, he wanted to show that he was not “a politician 100 percent” and that he was primarily a doctor and a professor. The outgoing minister said that he would stay in politics as a member of G17 Plus and a member of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) Presidency, adding that he would continue to represent European region and Serbia in the World Health Organization Executive Board until May 2012. He thinks that he is leaving his successor a health system which is “much more organized and sustainable compared to 2002” when he took the office.
