KFOR troop numbers to be halved

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in Brussels on Monday that the number of KFOR soldiers troops in Kosovo would be halved as of March 1. Reducing the number of soldiers from the current 10,000 to 5,000 will be completed by March 12, Rasmussen told reporters in Brussels, stressing that that would not affect the stability and security in Kosovo, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported. KFOR troop numbers to be halved KFOR is deployed in Kosovo since the summer of 1999, following the end of NATO's war against Yugoslavia.
