Kosovo’s new institutions will be formed in early March, Pristina-based dailies reported today. Parliamentary elections will be repeated in six Kosovo municipalities today. New Kosovo institutions in March Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore writes that the process of forming of new institutions has been delayed due to repeated elections in several municipalities after irregularities were recorded during the December 12 elections. Daily Gazeta Express notes that Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci will not be able to form the new government the way he announced in early January. “Official negotiations between political parties regarding forming of the new government can begin in early February,” the daily reports and quotes political analysts’ opinion that essential negotiations could only begin after the final election results have been published. Political analyst Shkelzen Maliqi said that he also expected Western diplomats to take part in the process. “Western diplomats are usually a part of the process. It happened before that agreements could not be reached without them. They will certainly have a role and they will assess which option is more pragmatic,” he pointed out. According to preliminary results, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) won the elections and its leader Hashim Thaci has announced that he would spend another term in office as Kosovo prime minister.
