IM: No concrete plan for government reshuffle

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić has stated that there will be no government reshuffling without the concurrence of all coalition members.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has stated that there will be no government reshuffling without the concurrence of all coalition members. He told Belgrade-based daily Vecernje novosti that his Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) did not oppose the government reshuffle, noting, however, that the issue should be handled systematically. IM: No concrete plan for government reshuffle "I expect that the decision on government reshuffling will be made in the first months of 2011, but so far there have been no concrete proposals," he said, adding that the main issue was the criteria under which the reshuffling could be carried out. The interior minister believes that the first move should be made by the Democratic Party (DS), as the strongest party in the coalition, adding that he discussed the issue with Serbian President Boris Tadic, but only in principle. "Theoretically, we could have no more than six ministries. However, there are state bodies which have to operate, within one ministry or the other," he said, adding that he did not approve of this matter being first debated by the media. When asked if there was any point in negotiating with Hashim Thaci after Dick Marty's report, Dacic responded that the question was not appropriate at this moment. "We decided on a dialogue, but it will not be held at the highest level," he explained, stressing that the issue of organ trafficking deserved to be thoroughly investigated.
