Deputies of the Serbian parliament today in Belgrade adopted the draft state budget for 2011, prepared by the government. 128 MPs voted in favor of the proposal which envisages a budget deficit of RSD 120.5bn (EUR 1.14bn). Late on Tuesday night, the debate on the budget, bylaws and amendments was completed. MPs were also scheduled to vote on proposed changes to a set of judiciary laws, as well as on tax and financial legislation. Those include laws on the budget system, income and value added taxes, excises, and pension and disability insurance. The draft budget envisages an income in 2011 of RSD 724.2bn, expenditure of RSD 844.9bn, with three-percent GDP growth and the inflation figure at 4.5 percent (plus/minus 1.5 percent). Speaker Slavica Đukić-Dejanović confirmed for B92 earlier today that the vote would take place this afternoon, ahead of midnight's legal deadline.Late on Tuesday night, the debate on the budget, bylaws and amendments was completed.
MPs were also scheduled to vote on proposed changes to a set of judiciary laws, as well as on tax and financial legislation.
