Minister blamed for problems in Sandžak

The Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) has asked for Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Čiplić to be sacked over <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2010&mm=10&dd=31&nav_id=70618" class="text-link" target= "_blank">the situation in the Raška District</a>.

The Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) has asked for Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Ciplic to be sacked over the situation in the Raska District. The southwestern region of Serbia, known also as Sandzak, is home to a large Bosniak (Muslim) minority, and LDP party official Ivan Adric said in parliament in Belgrade on Tuesday that Ciplic is the generator of all the problems and conflicts there. Minister blamed for problems in Sandzak "If a normalization of inter-ethnic relations is desired in Sandzak, and if it is desired that everyone should feel at home in this country regardless of their faith and ethnicity, then the first step must be Ciplic's dismissal," said he. "The next step must not be new (national council) elections, but the setting up of the council of the Bosnian national community," Andric added. According to the LDP MP, Ciplic failed to solve the problems related to the council, at the same time directing each step in the opposite direction, and wishing to confront the majority people with Bosniaks, at the same time never having traveled to Novi Pazar. "What he is doing is an introduction to new conflicts and we are free to say that this is the worst minister in this government and the man who generates all the problems and conflicts in Sandzak," concluded Andric.
